This is absolutely beautiful……. best tank I have seen on YouTube. You don’t have to be rich to have tanks like this the #1 rule in Salt water aquariums is patience. It just takes time.
i have a very strong light ( 96 watts) and im having a problem with algae…..its growing on everything, rocks, glass ect. i cant put any corals in my 10 gallon tank because the algae will kill it. i am looking for Coraline algae but not this green algae. id like to hear from your guys on how to get rid of it . i’ve heard you need to do water changes …ive done 1 each week 2gallons outa 10g ….it is STILL growing. please give me recommendations of filtration /methods of getting rid of it!
Patience and graigslist! $500 scored a $3000 setup for $500 bucks with 6 year old live rock and the water. Never would of been able to start if it wasn’t for that.
i love deep tanks, but there are way too many fishes in the tank, very nice lightining, your protein skimmer must be doing extra work with all those fish, to keep nitrate level low. very nice tank, what are the specs? and parameters, please share, thank you
Why do you say that? We have not added any new fish and they are so happy together. They are going on 3-5 years old, all seem to be very happy.
Natural reefs are buzzing with fish, I think they are happier with a natural setting.
I have been over and over the Specs, please read. New update video #4 coming soon .
Anychance I could get scrapings of Coroline Algea and pay you to mail it to my house or something, the live rock I have had green algea and it suffocated my coroline out.
Why must people always say there are too many fish in the tank? If the tank looks as healthy and clean as this one it’s fine. People read to many things and just repeat things instead of trying and experimenting. Yoj have a great tank that I only wish mine looked half as good. It’s up on YouTube. Check it out and complain about all the fish I have and they’ve been healthy for two and a half years!
sorry i didnt mean to upset you or offend you in any way, its just in my research i found that, Tangs grows big and need more room to swimm, yellow tangs, fox face, the hippo, all those will grow bigger if you gonna keep them for longer time. you have beautifull coras, but hey, who am i to tell you any thing about your tank, obvious you know what you are doing!! lovely tank, worth time and money spent, cheeers
Ya, I agree people that always claim “Too Many Fish” need to learn about protein skimmers and additional filtration. I have gone scuba diving in many coral reefs in my lifetime and there are literally thousands of fish of all kinds within close proximity to eachother

Hi…Just had a question for you. The racoon fish and the yellow tangs…do they give you problems with your corals? I have read that they eat polyps…

I think your probably right to at least a degree.
Could you imagen how much allelopathy is going on in there between those of those Coral species?
I prefer not to mix stonies and softies.
